John Acosta oversees banking operations in West Florida for Regions Financial Corporation. Regions is a top U.S. bank-holding company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with $146 billion in assets, operating 1,900 banking offices in 16 states.

Acosta previously served as city president in West Florida and has also managed business banking throughout the West and Southwest Florida areas of Regions. Before joining Regions, Acosta served as senior vice president and Small Business Sales Manager at Bank of America in Tampa, Florida. In his 13 years at Bank of America, he also served as a vice president in Branch Planning, a Middle Market relationship manager and as a branch manager.

Acosta holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. He also graduated from the Leadership Institute at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia and the Center for Creative Leadership, Greenville, North Carolina.

He currently serves on the board of directors of the Pinellas County Economic Development Council, the St. Petersburg College School of Banking Advisory Board and the Tampa Chamber of Commerce Council of 100. Acosta is a graduate of Leadership Tampa 2004; and has recently been appointed to the Florida State University School of Business Board of Governors.
