Florida State University's Dedman School of Hospitality is an independent, industry-specific school with its own admission requirements, advising office and degree requirements. Although independent, the school will still be administered by the College the Business.

Since 1947, Florida State University's Dedman School of Hospitality has been a leader in developing careers in the hospitality industry. The school is dedicated to preparing business leaders for the hospitality industry. These professionals graduate with a hospitality and business management education that includes technical skills, broad global perspectives and high ethical standards. Our Dedman graduates make a positive impact daily throughout the world. The strengths of the school include an innovative curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, a committed faculty of teachers and scholars and students who log 1,000 hours of work and internship experience prior to graduation.

Unlike many of the colleges and schools on campus, Dedman School of Hospitality students accepts students their freshman year. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management spend four full years following the rigorous and relevant curriculum. They graduate with a solid foundation in core business and management functions and expertise gained through electives that allow students to explore their specific interests within the hospitality industry.

  • A favored hiring source of the world's leading hotel, restaurant and resort industries, the Dedman School of Hospitality has a near 100-percent placement rate of its graduates.
  • The Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program in the Dedman School is one of only 20 accredited nationwide by the PGA. Its graduates earn 22 percent more than those not attending a PGM- PGA university.
  • Mark Bonn, Robert H. Dedman Professor of Service Management, is a member of the Florida Tourism Hall of Fame, becoming the first and only scholar and educator to receive this honor.
