The College of Engineering’s TraCS Florida team is looking to add a part-time (20 hours/week) developer to our team. TraCS Florida is a grant funded project that develops, deploys, and supports software used for the collection of traffic crash and citation data by hundreds of users in Florida.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform development activities as assigned, including user interface design, C# programming, and testing.
Record, evaluate, confirm, and/or fix bugs reported by users.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the deployment and usage of TraCS Florida software.
Develop software documentation as assigned.
BENEFITS AND PAY:
The position is an OPS position and will pay $13.50/hour.
Start Date: May 2009
Preferred Skills: The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science or be a student majoring in a computer science related field.
Must have some familiarity with an object-oriented programming language.
Must have a willingness to learn C#.
Ability to install and troubleshoot software deployed within the Microsoft Windows environment.
Ability to accurately describe, discuss, and communicate issues of a technical nature.
Experience developing user interfaces is a plus.
Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000 (or later), or other SQL capable DBMS is a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Access and Excel is a plus.
