The Public Accounting Reports rankings show FSU on fast-track upward.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State University College of Business graduate accounting programs are ranked the best programs in the state, according to the 27th Annual Public Accounting Report (PAR) Professor's Survey.

After the largest voter turnout in PAR's history, FSU's accounting programs climbed in every category. The undergraduate program moved up one spot to No. 24. The graduate program – defined by PAR as a program offering master's degrees in accounting or taxation – jumped 4 spots to No. 19, and the doctoral program debuted at No. 23.

"To have such tremendous growth in the rankings in one year is a testament to the strength of the Florida State University accounting programs," said Bud Fennema, chairman of FSU's accounting department and the Ernst & Young Professor of Accounting. "Our students, faculty and staff are what make our programs the best in the state, and some of the best in the country."

The PAR compiles its national rankings by surveying accounting professors and department heads, who were asked to name the undergraduate and graduate programs that most consistently turn out students capable of someday attaining "partner" status. PAR publishes the Top 25 ranking in each category: undergraduate, graduate and doctoral. PAR is one of the leading trade publications covering the public accounting profession in the United States.
