Tallahassee, Fla. – Friday, April 3, 2009 was anything but regular for students in Professor William Woodyard's class. Guest lecturer Harry Sargeant, III., an FSU alumnus and successful business entrepreneur, came to teach. From business endeavors to work ethic to the current economic situation, Sargeant imparted a plethora of information and "know how" to students.

"Harry Sargeant III is really one of the most fascinating individuals I have ever met," said Adam Corey, an employee of Sargeant and recent FSU graduate. "His story will captivate and inspire you to think differently and make the most of every single second of your life."

Sargeant, who graduated from Florida State in 1979 with his degree in business, is the owner of the International Oil Trading Company (IOTC), a company that supplies aviation fuel to the U.S. Military in Iraq. Not to mention that, he is also one of a handful of people who privately own an oil refinery in the world. Today, his company grosses billions of dollars annually.

After his lecture, Sargeant was presented with an honorary membership to the Garnet and Gold Key Leadership Honorary in recognition of his success and extensive philanthropy efforts that include significant donations to FSU athletics, the Bethesda Hospital in South Florida, the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and many others.
