Deluca's exceptional leadership and service to the University led to his induction
into the Seminole Torchbearers.
|
Dominic Deluca 2006 Spring Graduate in Risk Management/Insurance Dominic Deluca prepared for graduation this past spring, a time when students typically look back on their college years and select those experiences that will translate into the most memorable. The years he served as a Resident Assistant (RA)-—when he "had an impact on others' lives"—- will be at the top of Dominic's list. Because he witnessed "a welcoming culture" the first time he visited Florida State, Dominic quickly adjusted to his new home and joined in the activities that campus life offers. In his freshman year, he chaired the Political Action Committee for the Hispanic Student Union (HSU). The next year, he served as secretary for the HSU, which honored him as the Executive Board Member of the Year. Then, Dominic attended LeaderShape, a non-stop, six-day program designed to build leadership skills. He put that knowledge to use the same year as an RA at Landis Hall. In his junior year, he became an RA for Cawthon Hall and served as treasurer of the HSU. He joined the staff of LeaderShape as an on-site coordinator, and began work at the LEAD Center, which further enhanced his leadership skills. Because he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and service to the University, Dominic was inducted into the Seminole Torchbearers. Another fond memory Dominic will take with him as he starts a new phase of his life. |
