DOCTORAL PROGRAM SUPPORT
The real estate program serves as a support area for doctoral students in risk management / insurance, finance, economics, and other areas interested in pursuing advanced studies in real estate. Real estate faculty members routinely serve on the doctoral committees of students pursuing a support area in real estate, related research, or as outside committee members.
The graduate real estate support area sequence (generally 9 credit hrs.) may be tailored to meet the specific interests of individual Ph.D. students. The program seeks to prepare students to teach real estate courses at other colleges and universities, and to engage students in real estate research issues. The program encourages and financially supports the presentation of doctoral student research at meetings of the real estate academic associations (e.g., American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) and the American Real Estate Society (ARES)).
For more information, students should contact the department chair.
