While market cycles exist, opportunities for employment and advancement have been exceptional. The largest portion, perhaps 75%, of our graduates accept associate and analyst positions with (1) financial institutions, mortgage banking and investment groups; (2) real estate brokerage, leasing, and management companies; and (3) consulting and appraisal firms.
Real Estate offers Entrepreneurial Opportunities
Entrepreneurial and small business opportunities, such as real estate brokerage, leasing, appraisal, construction, and development offer entrepreneurial-minded students the chance to observe and better understand real estate markets. These positions often allow employees the opportunity to have their finger on the market's pulse-enabling them to potentially participate in transactions.
Real Estate offers Corporate Opportunities
Mortgage underwriting and lending opportunities with commercial banks, mortgage companies have been strong. Positions with insurance companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and pension funds continue to emerge. Major corporations, such restaurant groups and retailers seeking to expand, have required the services of acquisitions analysts and real estate associates.
Real Estate offers Public Service Opportunities
State government agencies such as departments of transportation or environmental protection, and local government bodies such as planning offices and property tax offices have offered solid opportunities to graduates of the program.
