Amos Ryals McMullian Amos McMullian has served as chairman of the board of Flowers Industries since 1985. Flowers Industries (member NYSE), a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Thomasville, Georgia, produces and markets a full line of fresh and frozen baked foods to retail and food service companies throughout the United States. The company's business units include Flowers Bakeries, Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, and Keebler Foods.

McMullian joined the management team in 1963 after his graduation from Florida State University. He began his career as an assistant plant manager in Thomasville in 1965; by 1967, he was plant manager of Atlanta Baking Company. During the 1970s, he served as regional vice president, division president of the bakery and snack division. After being promoted to chief operating officer of the company, McMullian was named CEO in 1981; he was elected vice chairman of the board and chairman of the executive committee in 1984. While serving as chairman of the board, McMullian retains his CEO and chairman of the executive committee duties.

McMullian is a member of the charter group of GOPAC and serves on the board of trustees of Georgia Research Alliance. He is also a board member of both Keebler and Worldwide Lanier.
