Gary L. Rogers Gary Rogers has been president and chief executive officer of General Electric (GE) Plastics since 1992. A 1966 graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. in Marketing, Rogers joined GE's Financial Management Program that same year. In 1969, he became a member of the Corporate Audit Staff; he advanced to manager of programs and staff administration in 1976.

Rogers was appointed manager of lamp components financial planning and analysis operation in 1977 and general manager of the lamp and electronic parts products department in 1979. In 1982, Rogers was elected vice president and general manager of the lamp products division. In 1986, he became president and chief executive officer of GE's electrical distribution and control; in 1990, he was promoted to president and chief executive officer of GE appliances.
